Viejas Casino & Resort
BRG Consulting has a thorough working knowledge of the Viejas Indian Reservation land use policies, terrain, and tribal customs, history, and tradition. For the past twenty-four years, BRG has assisted the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians in successfully completing numerous development projects, including many critical to their economic independence. BRG also has been instrumental in the planning of more traditional projects, such as the Viejas Creek Wetlands Conservation Area Plan, to restore and preserve wetlands located in the center of the reservation.
As the Band’s On-Call Environmental Consultant, BRG has completed nearly twenty projects for them since 1995. The most significant of these are:
- Tribal Environmental Impact Reports to expand the Viejas Casino & Hotel.
- Environmental Assessment (EA)/Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for Tenant Leases at the Viejas Outlet Center. for compliance with NEPA.
- Initial Study/FONSI for the Viejas Casino and Turf Club Parking Garage, for compliance with the Viejas Environmental Policy Ordinance and the Tribal/State Gaming Compact.
- EA/FONSI/Wetland Restoration Plan/404 Permit for the relocation of Viejas Creek.
